Unknown - 2011 - a Quikreview by Vaz

Unknown is the new explosive action thriller based on a french novel by Didier van Cauwelaert starring Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, Aidan Quinn among others and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra known for horror movies like House of Wax and The Orphan. Neeson stars as Dr. Martin Harris, who arrives at Berlin with his pretty wife for a biotech summit. He is involved in a road traffic accident and wakes up in a hospital with his memory jaded and able to remember only in bits and pieces. Going to the hotel where he was supposed to be staying, he finds that another man has taken his identity. Unalbe to convicne the authorities that he is the real Martin, he goes in search of who he is, is he really whom he thinks he is, with each peice of puzzle making him to question his own sanity. He has a pretty lass riding shotgun through these adventures. The film starts off with a bang and does not let go till the explosive climax. Liam Neeson starts off where he left from in A Team, Taken etc., and gives a power-packed performance and is entirely believable as the man with lost identity. Lookout for a well crafted car chase sequence in the streets of Berlin which is a real white knuckle ride. On the flip side though, the movie is a tad lengthy at 1 hour 53 minutes and fans of Bourne series may find this premise all too familiar. Otherwise, do not start watching the movie late at night, as you may not be able to switch it off before the climax!
